Elena Boyko – Russia’s new Deputy Minister of Health
Russia has appointed a new Deputy Minister of Health: Elena Boyko, Director of the IT Department of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation. A corresponding decree was signed by Dmitry Medvedev, the Russian Prime Minister.
Boyko is the seventh Deputy Minister of Health of the Russian Federation. Her responsibility is to digitalize the healthcare sector in the country.
Smart home assistant for the elderly
Intuition Robotics has designed a voice assistant, ElliQ, to help senior citizens.
The device is equipped with a display showing necessary information, while the voice makes communication with the system natural.
ElliQ allows to play music, read messages, and create notifications. Besides, the solution will offer its owners various games and select an individual type of activity.
New solution to kill sinus pain during sinusitis
Health Systems has developed a bioelectronic device called ClearUP for treating the sinus pain. Such a treatment is non-drug because drugs often cause severe side effects.
ClearUP relieves the pain using weak microcurrent impulses: they stimulate nerves under the skin. To find the best possible exposure points, the technology analyses the properties of patient’s skin.
The device is controlled by a single button, offering three intensity levels. ClearUP will enter the market in mid-2019.
New version of FHIR standard
Level Seven (HL7) has announced the development of a new version of the standard for medical information sharing – FHIR (Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources). FHIR determines a standard for medical data storage and assignation in the electronic form.
Some of the key elements of the fourth FHIR are now statutory, including RESTful API, XML and JSON formats, terminological level, Conformance Framework, as well as Patient and Observation resources.
